Jamaaladeen Tacuma leads a creative expedition to Essaouira Morocco , he gathered a group of adventurous rising stars of world avant garde jazz music from USA , Morocco and and Denmark . As a lead ambassador for Third Way Cultural Alliance, Jamaaladeen Tacuma will host a creative expedition and community week to coincide with The Gnaoua Festival from June 24th to the 30th, 2024 Artists will share accommodations in the heart of the ancient Medina of Essaouira during the legendary 25th anniversary of Essaouira Gnaoua Festival . In a collaborative spirit they will share meals, explore the culture and sites of the local community, exchange ideas with local artists as well as the international artists performing at the festival. They will have access to a recording studio, art galleries, parties and jam sessions . All these activities will further expand their own creative practices and foster more collaborations in the international world music community. Participants include Paul Giess (USA) Sanchel Brown (USA) and Randi Pontoppidan (Denmark). The residency will introduce Third Way Cultural Alliance to Africa within most simple and powerful method: connecting community and fostering creativity. Guests will be invited to attend and discuss the possibilities of collaboration as Third Way begins its process of raising funds to directly fund future artists albums and projects.
