Throughout my artistic journey, I have dedicated myself to bridging the avant-garde African-American sonic tradition with the world’s most sacred, rhythmically sophisticated folkloric masters. This international journey first took root with my seminal Gramavision release, Music World, which established a lifelong blueprint for global musical dialogue. Moving far beyond conventional "fusion," these encounters find common ground in the universal language of groove, spiritual trance, and ritual liberation. From synthesizing the thunder of sacred Korean percussion with SamulNori master Kim Duk-Soo, to deep ceremonial trance sessions with Moroccan Gnawa Maâlems in Essaouira, to exploring intricate Ottoman rhythms with Turkish virtuoso Burhan Öçal, each project treats living tradition and cutting-edge bass, guitar, and horn work as absolute equals on the world stage.
