Jamaaladeen Tacuma’s receives Black Music City Philadelphia Grant

Honoring Philadelphia's rich Black music history by inspiring today's creatives. 

Black Music City recognizes and honors the influence of Philadelphia Black music history and is a collaboration between Philadelphia public music radio stations WXPN-FM and WRTI-FM and REC Philly. On Juneteenth we celebrate and honor 23 granters winners with live music, storytelling, and a gallery of artwork.

Jamaaladeen Tacuma’s “Philly Rhythm Kingz” a musical video tribute to the Session musicians who were the foundation of The Philly sound from 1965-1970. This film features live performance , commentary and interviews of the people who were involved in the early days of the legendary Philly sound.
